Open HIS - hospital system

Integrated hospital information system was developed during five years of work, in cooperation with the IT department of a general hospital Varazdin, and covers all requirements in the work of a hospital or clinic. In the center of the system is the patient and all related processing over it that are very complex so that in the end we have an electronic record of a patient which is the goal of the system.

INTERNAL ORDER AND TRANSFERS WITHIN THE INSTITUTION Electronic internal orders on the basis of which the later works automatically sent to the internal receiving departments.     SECURITY AND DATA Each user has his name that enters the system, and each user name is assigned a role in a system that is the default for certain rights of access to data and applications. Any changes to the data is recorded (time and user who made it). Physical deletion of the most sensitive information, we have disabled to avoid unintended data loss. For any additional information we have auditing tables in which write down your deleted information.


    The core of the system is a web application developed in Microsoft tools by Web 2.0 standards. Only mass data processing for a variety of reports is done as a Windows desktop application, but that part of the application is already intended only for the administrative level of use, that is for a narrow range of users. All other parts of the application are classic / advanced ASP.NET applications.

    The system is multi-layered and have such a database part which is used for data storage (MS SQL Server 2005) and for more or less demanding the need for manipulation of data (stored procedures, functions, views). Communication with the database module workin over business layer which is initially automatically generated with ORM tools and leans on its architecture. In the business layer is the very essence of this system and it is designed so that it can later be used with any of the presentation layer, not only in the web environment. And finally, we have a presentation layer (UI layer) which is a web application (ASP.NET) based on ExtJs UI components. To generate reports using the iTextSharp PDF component for dynamically creating PDF documents (the report) and Crystal Reports tools as traditional reporting tools.


    Minimum need a stronger server with Windows Server 2003 (or later) operating system, installed IIS version 6.0 and installed Microsoft.NET 4.0+ Framework. In case you used the database on the same server, requires the installation of MS SQL Server 2005 (or later). The optimal use two servers: an application server for the main application and database server. If we plan to access the application remotely, then need the web server modules that can be accessed over the Internet. However to provide a data backup and backup application server add another 2 server to make the system completely safe.


    On the client side can use Linux OS with the Mozilla Firefox web browser included with the installed browser PDF documents. The system naturally also works on Windows OS on IE 6.0+ and Mozilla Firefox web browsers. The system would probably do without major difficulties on Google Chrome and Opera web browsers but not fully tested. No additional installation is required on client machines.


    The only thing required to pay compulsory licenses: one license for Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2012 Standard Edition and licenses for Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Standard Edition operating system (as long as the server is used - from 1 to 4 an optimum or even more if desired). On the client side do not need a license if you are using Linux OS, and if you use some of the Windows OS then you must buy a license for it.
